Mutual or telepathic dreaming is when two people interact in a dream and can both separately report a matching experience upon awakening. If mutual dreaming could be verified scientifically, it would revolutionize our understanding of consciousness.
Dash and I both wired up to OpenBCI and agreed to meet up in our lucid dreams after doing wake-back-to-bed and taking galantamine. To get evidence for mutual dreaming, we agreed beforehand to trace one persons’ finger in the dream with our eyes. If our eye movements corresponded in the dream, it would suggest that we were really together in an alternate dream reality.
We both had lucid dreams and both remembered doing the task! However, the timing did not match up and our (my) eye signals were not clear.
Mutual dreaming may not be proven yet, but it would be fascinating if future studies could verify the phenomenon!
